An illustrated presentation in the Elting Memorial Library's Steinberg Room by the chairs of the Town and Village Historic Preservation Commissions that will focus on the last quarter century of architectural preservation efforts in New Paltz, starting with the establishment of the two Commissions in 2001. Chairs John Orfitelli and Tom Olsen will explain the underlying legal basis of preservation efforts in the community, share examples of success stories and missed opportunities, and look ahead to three new initiatives designed to protect the community's historic architectural heritage into the future. The program will conclude with a Q & A and open discussion. Light refreshments will be served.
